Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Another.ie ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use another.ie and its related services, including our social media integrations. We are committed to processing your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988 to 2018.
1. Who we are
Another.ie is a service for tracking and monitoring recently deleted .ie domain names, operated by David Behan in Ireland. For the purposes of the GDPR, Another.ie is the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.
Contact: admin@another.ie
2. Personal data we collect
We only collect the data we need to provide the service:
- Account data: your first name, last name, email address and password (stored in hashed form) when you create an account.
- Profile data (optional): company name, phone number and country, if you choose to add them to your profile.
- Usage data: the domains you add to your watchlist and your account activity on the site.
- Technical data: anonymous, aggregated analytics about page visits (see section 6), and standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and request times, kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Correspondence: any information you provide when you email us.
We do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health, religious or political information) and we do not sell your personal data.
3. How we use your data and our legal basis
- To provide your account and the service (sign-in, watchlists, domain alerts) — necessary for the performance of a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To keep the service secure and working (preventing abuse, rate limiting, fixing errors) — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To understand how the site is used using privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- To respond to your enquiries — our legitimate interests or, where relevant, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
- To comply with legal obligations — where the law requires us to keep or disclose information (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
4. Social media integrations (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
We use the official APIs of LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram solely to publish Another.ie content (such as summaries of recently deleted .ie domains) to our own company pages and accounts.
- The access tokens we obtain from these platforms authorise posting on behalf of Another.ie's own pages only. They are stored securely on our servers and are never shared.
- We do not use these integrations to collect, store or process personal data of LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram members, and we do not use the data for advertising, profiling or resale.
- If you interact with our posts on those platforms (for example, by liking or commenting), that interaction is governed by the privacy policy of the relevant platform.
See the LinkedIn Privacy Policy, Meta Privacy Policy and Instagram Privacy Policy for details of how those platforms handle your data.
5. Who we share your data with
We share personal data only with trusted service providers ("processors") who help us run the service, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions:
- Supabase — database hosting and user authentication.
- Plausible Analytics — privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to serve the website.
- Domain data providers — to check public .ie domain registration status (no personal data about you is sent).
We may also disclose data where required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use only strictly necessary cookies, which keep you signed in to your account. These do not require consent under the ePrivacy rules and are not used for tracking or advertising.
Our analytics are provided by Plausible, which does not use cookies, does not collect personal data and does not track you across websites. All analytics data is aggregated.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep your data
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, unless we are legally required to keep it for longer. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted.
9. Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — ask us to delete your personal data.
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, including requesting removal of your data, email us at admin@another.ie. We will respond within one month. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. There is no charge for making a request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission (Ireland's supervisory authority), or with the supervisory authority in the EU country where you live. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns first.
10. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of any breach where required by law.
11. Children
Another.ie is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it was last changed. Where changes are significant, we will notify registered users by email or on the site.
